Liberals’ negative obsession against Conservatives

Steve deigns to Consider me a Good Human Being.

Steve tells me that he’s surprised some conservatives are nice and some liberals are mean. That’s a liberal for you. Surprised that anyone but a member of his liberal tribe could be a good human being. He was referring to me. We’ve known each other twenty years and he’s surprised that I’m a nice guy even though I’m a conservative. Prejudice as deep as a cave, he is bouncing around spelunking at the bottom of his biases. As a conservative, I’m not really prejudiced against liberals. I feel that they are sometimes fools who can’t get over the failures of communism, and that they are always looking for the ease of short-term solutions rather than long-term goals. They hate fascism but love its sister, communism. Still, I’m not surprised that there are liberals who are good human beings. Sure, many of them are misguided. But ideology is not character and I am not surprised to recognize that Steve is a good human being even though he is naïve about long-term solutions and struggling with his prejudice against deeper thinking conservative. I’m beginning to feel that liberals have a negative obsession against conservatives. It’s like a piece of their brains broke off and created negative valences against reason. Many of them are well educated. It saddens me that they don’t understand their prejudice.
