Trail of impropriety and abuse of power is more and more traced to the White House

Limiting government

It’s difficult for the media to be manipulated when actual events take over as the issues of the day. At those times we see what a chief administrator is made of.
While a tightly controlled media can be made to ignore issues, such as the death of an ambassador when terrorists overtake an American consulate, we are now seeing breaking news taking over before the spin-masters can get their sanitized version of the news to media outlets. It looks like we have reached a tipping point, where we are reaping what we sowed after four-and-a-half years of administrative neglect and abuse of power in the executive branch of our federal government. Almost on a daily basis we are seeing misdeeds exposed which fly directly in the face of campaign promises of transparency in the operation of our federal government. The unfounded concern of the political left that the Bush administration was leading to some kind of police state are beginning to pale in the face of the actual overreach of the current administration.

Laws passed after the September 11, 2001 attack on our nation were intended to be administered by those who operate within the legal parameters of those laws. But as we plunge headlong into the second term of a presidential administration that believes their political agenda supersedes the laws and our Constitution, the post-9/11 laws intended to protect us from terrorism begin to be grossly misused. Now we are seeing the consequences, as the trail of impropriety and abuse of power is more and more traced to the White House. We are seeing the effects of a “fundamental transformation” of our government into a politically-partisan apparatus distributing punishment to those seen as enemies of the Obama agenda. A lot of what happens here is in the hands of those representing the political opposition, an unorganized coalition of Republicans, Tea Party members, conservatives, and libertarians. To a large extent, the Republicans hold the keys to stopping the Obama juggernaut, since they have the majority in the House of Representatives, one of the two legislative bodies responsible for oversight of the executive branch, which administers the laws they have passed. But any opposition led by the Republican leadership will be very weak without the other members of this “coalition,” who may or may not be members of the Republican Party, but can come together as a powerful political force to move the Republican leadership to actually take action against this power-grab. It is becoming more and more evident that the President and his leftist-Democrat associates have no regard for the constitutional constraints that were formulated and established through the wisdom and perseverance of our Founders. Those constraints allow us to live as a free people, rather than be ruled by the select-few who make it to the top.
