‘Loose Cannon’ VP Joe Biden

It is actually humorous to watch Joe Biden travel the country, stumping for the Obama/Biden ticket.

He is such a loose cannon that one has to wonder if he has any sense, and if the President has any control. I guess he’s sort of like every family’s bumbling Uncle. Most people love him but no one takes him seriously. When he puts his foot in his mouth, we just shrug our shoulders and say, “That’s Joe”. Can’t you picture the Oval Office reprimands? “Joe, look, you’re a good guy, you mean well but you just can’t go on camera saying those things that we want to hide from the people.” Well, I’m here to tell you, the job of Vice President is serious business and should be conducted with dignity. The Vice President should not be perceived as a gaffe-prone laughing stock. And his words should reflect the position of the President. When the VP said that he and Obama want to raise taxes, was the statement a gaffe or was making such a statement the gaffe? When the VP said that the middle class has been buried for 4 years, which was the gaffe? Was it the words or speaking them out loud? I’m fairly certain, in both cases, Biden articulated the truth in an “oops” moment, forgetting the administration’s posture. We can learn a lot about the state of things, present and future, by listening to Joe Biden. Charity Eavey
