>Lt. Steven Rogers is native of Brooklyn, NY, Rogers served in the U.S. Air Force from 1970 to 1974, attaining the rank of sergeant before his honorable discharge. Rogers joined the East Orange Police Department in 1974 and transferred to the Nutley Police Department in 1976. Rogers enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserves in 1981, studying at the Naval War College. In 1986, Rogers received a bachelor's in criminal justice from William Paterson University. Rogers was recalled to active duty and left the Nutley Police Department following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and was assigned to serve as a Senior Naval Intelligence Officer. Rogers retired from the Navy in 2004 as a lieutenant commander and returned to the Nutley Police Department. He retired from the Department in 2011 as a detective lieutenant.
