Mainstream Media’s Race to the Gutter

What ever happened to the Journalistic Code of Ethics?

It boggles the mind to watch the low-down antics and contrived, strategized hooey the mainstream media  keep slinging  us. Surely the ratings can't indicate that we are so dumb and stupid that we are buying this load of dung?   I'm just an ordinary retired guy, who never had time to complain about it before. I always thought professional journalism and broadcasting meant that the media should present the issues in a balanced, impartial and fair manner so that we the people can draw informed decisions. I also naively thought the media's main role in democracy was to keep watch on the politicians to curtail their excesses.   Instead, the MS media has become a propaganda movement and promoter of far-left socialistic ideology and extreme environmentalism. They take sides, misuse their power of influence to cheerlead their Left-wing candidates in elections and attempt to discredit the Conservative opponents. One radio host describes them as "the drive-by media", because they are so inept and have such a predictable preconcieved motive.   How can we ever expect our politicians to be honest when the Media is so dishonest? In my estimation, they now hold lower public esteem than the politicians they are in bed with.     Wouldn't it be deserving to give the sleazy journalists some of their own medicine, as per the following impression;   CNN's Sarah Palin TV interview conducted by Katie Couric appeared so obviously low grade, cunning and snide. Couric, an unpromising amateur interviewer, asks gotcha type, dishonest and unfair questions designed to make Palin look bad.  Many questions by media hacks are cannily along the line of  "when did you realize you were inferior and not up to the task, also implying that you must know you can't win because we are going to get you. Many questions are vague and of large complex issues but expect short para-phrased answers. When Palin, innocently answers the trick question honestly and surprisingly well, Couric then asks her to "be more specific".  Now it doesn't matter how well Palin answers the question, Couric's cute agenda is to trip up Palin and imply it wasn't a satisfactory answer by saying, "I don't mean to belabor the point, but could you be more specific"?  Here you have a rare gem of a woman, a bright, beautiful, All-American, down to earth super-mom with high career accomplishments, a  decent, honest person of good cultured upbringing who treats other people with respect and is held in high regard by all who meet her. Then you have Katie Couric, an insecure,  small minded nasty person, a wanna-be of little accomplishment, whose only talent is to tear down others to make herself look good. Probably never in her life met anyone as genuinely high quality as Sarah Palin. Couric certainly doesn't hold any of the qualities that legendary interviewer Barbara Walters had, but what a difference in moral character. And then after the interview, CNN has their venomous panel of three low life critics to gang up and spin poison on any positive thing Palin may have said to make sure it is cast negatively. They give this treatment to all Republican type figures but lavish their Left wing Democrat guests with praise and admiration.   Sarah Palin would be invited to our home any day. On the other hand, I would not wish Katie Couric or her CNN vipers anywhere near.         The MS-Media in Canada is no better, right on par, a mirrored replication and the CBC is even worse.
