Man Made Global Warming…Real or Fraud? If Fraud…Why?
For a number of years we have been inundated with emotional diatribes from various individuals and groups claiming that we are destroying our world with pollution, particularly air pollution. On a regular basis we hear threatening claims that the earth will be virtually uninhabitable by some date in the not too distant future. A quick “online” check found an entry claiming that 2050 was the new ‘end-of-the-world-date. It would, of course, be reasonable to wonder if this current claim was being made by the same person or group that only a couple of decades ago was claiming that 2020 would be “THE END”.
A brief look at the history of climate change throughout the centuries will show that the earth’s climate has always cycled, sometimes hotter and sometimes colder but constantly changing. The medieval warm period ran from 950-1250. How many polluting vehicles were around then to have contributed to or as is being currently claimed actually caused that? The Earth cooled off next and we had the “little ice age” that ran from 1300-1850.

Something to note is that during cold periods, the reduction in the growth of plants certainly has a negative effect on the food sources that all animals, human and otherwise, require in order to survive. The author could not find a figure for how many people starved during the little ice age but did find an estimate that there were only about 390 million humans in 1350. Earth’s population is currently estimated at almost 7.9 billion and rapidly growing. What is likely to happen in the next ice age, and there will in all likelihood, be one at some point in time?
There is no question but that in living our lives all people produce waste products in a wide variety of forms, some of which certainly enter our atmosphere. However the Earth, itself, does the same whenever there is a volcanic eruption or even things as simple and common as forest fires and even wind over dry land. This is not to say that mankind has no responsibility to follow reasonable practices intended to keep the planet where we all live cleaner rather than dirtier as we all benefit from the former. Virtually all economies throughout the world today depend on energy to produce and or deliver everything that is necessary to maintain the lives of people. The very basic needs of “food, clothing and shelter” always require the use of energy for their production, supply and delivery and given our current technology, fossil fuel is the primary source of that energy. The days of the “hunter gatherer” or even the primitive farmer utilizing hand tools or even draft animals are all but gone across most of the world, today. Fossil fueled equipment and vehicles are used extensively for a wide variety of purposes the most common being the moving of material and or people from one point to another.
There is little question but that electric vehicles emit nearly zero pollution when being operated, making them far less polluting than a comparable gasoline or diesel engine vehicle being used for the same purpose. However, the electric vehicle’s lack of emissions when being operated does not reflect the total picture of the pollution being released in the overall process, nor does the exhaust from a fossil fueled vehicle. The energy to drive either type of vehicle has to come from somewhere so for a comparison to have any real meaning it must include all of the steps inherent in getting power to the drive wheels.
In the case of fuel burning vehicles, crude oil must be found, produced, refined and delivered to numerous locations to which the vehicle operator(s) have access. Crude oil must be located underground or under water then brought to the surface, usually by pumping. Next it must be transported by ship, truck and or pipeline to a refinery for processing. Refining is accomplished at significantly high temperatures, and refineries burn significant amounts of fuel in the process. Finally, refined products must be distributed, again by truck and or pipeline to locations where consumers can access it.
In the case of electric powered vehicles electric power is simply drawn from the vehicle’s battery in order to propel it. However, the electric vehicle’s battery must, itself, have been charged from some external source of energy (electricity). Therefore, for a meaningful comparison it is necessary, as in the case of the fuel burning vehicle (above), to review the source of that power and include the pollution released throughout that entire process.

Typically, the batteries of electric vehicles are charged utilizing power from the local electric grid as furnished by power plants. As of 2021 some 80 % of the electric power plants in the US generated electricity by burning some form of Hydrocarbon fuel with some 22 % of the total still burning coal. In addition, the efficiency of the conversion of the energy in whatever fuel is being burned in a power plant to actual electricity going in to the power grid is only around 65%. There are further losses incurred in getting the electricity from the power plant to the electric vehicle operator’s location and in the actual charging of the electric vehicle’s battery. All of these losses must be accounted for when calculating the pollution generated in the total process of driving “clean” electric vehicles and when comparing them with fuel powered vehicles.
The author does not have available all of the specific “numbers” for each of the steps in energy conversion or pollution released in either of the above cases. It is quite possible that, in the electric vehicle case, there may be somewhat less total pollution released than in the case of fuel driven vehicles. Of course, in those areas (22 % of the total) where electricity is still being generated by the burning of coal one should certainly wonder if that is correct. The point being made, however, is that in the electric vehicle case it is nowhere near the “zero emissions” claim often made by the “Global Warming” crowd in their promotion of their claims.
Given the above, the question that all Americans need to be asking is “What is the real motive of those promoting the threat of Global Warming?” In the author’s decided opinion, the answer is very simple and it has little or nothing to do with “cleaning the air”. What they are seeking is nothing but political POWER and truly immense political power. As our country runs on energy if we allow the “Global Warming Crowd” to acquire control of energy, they will control our country and everyone in it.
Fingers on the switches of energy distribution
In the current situation with fuel powered vehicles the system to provide fuel is very diverse and has been in operation for over a century and is, almost entirely privately owned. The same is not totally true for the system(s) that produce and distribute electric power. A significant number of the power stations as well as the power distribution system fall under what is referred to as “public utilities”. By making most vehicles electric every individual’s mobility would be under the control of those controlling said public utilities. Those individuals and or groups would have their “fingers on the switches” of energy and, as such, would be in near total control of our country.
Assuming the accuracy of the above analysis, it is obviously the opinion of the author that “Man Made Global Warming” bringing about climate change is nothing more than a fraud created and being promoted by the political Left to gain and eventually hold virtually unlimited power over the citizens of this country. These people must be stopped and the first step in doing so is to expose them and what they are trying to do, and WHY!
