Hating Hispanics: Has Arizona Ignited Firestorm After Decade of Simmering Tension? Jumped by three men wielding chains and bats, Adolfo pleaded with his attackers to consider his family. The country’s changing demographics and ongoing struggle with immigration policy have stirred anti-Hispanic sentiment, said activists who reported anecdotal evidence that Arizona’s controversial immigration law has contributed to a fresh round of discrimination. “For us, there’s always been a simmering anti-immigrant sentiment,” said Lisa Navarrete, vice president of the National Council of La Raza, an Hispanic advocacy group.

Oh, we must of missed something here. Didn’t the activists (including those in the Just Us Department) assume Arizona law enforcement would racially profile illegals lawfully detained? Didn’t activists, entertainers, pro athletes, as well as politicians call an entire state racist for being sick-up-and-fed of the crime that follows illegals and doing something about it? And with all due respect (very little as a matter of disclosure) to Ms. Navarrete of ‘The Race’, there is no “anti-immigrant sentiment”. Many people are past simmering when it comes to people who break our federal law entering our country, while giving the finger to those abroad waiting in line for years. Many people are past simmering when it comes to employers who low-ball (and ignore) American workers in favor of uneducated illegals who can’t even get a fast food order right. Many people are past simmering when it comes to people here illegally taking to the streets to protest US for wanting immigration laws enforced. Many people are past simmering when it comes to politicians who’ve done the minimum regarding border security and then blast Arizona to taking steps to protect their own people. Many people are past simmering when it comes to holier-than-thou television outlets teaming up with racist activists to smear an entire group of law-abiding citizens.
