Thugs don’t congregate like cockroaches in neighbourhoods with high crime rates.
In gated communities and in the mansions of the rich and famous, where time is marked by cocktail hour, crime raises its ugly head. A disbarred attorney who lives—three doors down—from Bill and Hilary Rodham Clinton in toney suburban New York was convicted Saturday of murdering his wife. No crime of passion, the attorney wanted to get his hands on his wife’s lucrative life insurance money. “A Westchester Country jury found Carlos Perez-Olivio guilty of second-degree murder. He could get life in prison.” (Yahoo, Oct. 4, 2008). “Prosecutors said the troubled lawyer shot his schoolteacher wife, Peggy, in the back of the head as she dozed in their car during a drive to their home in Chappaqua on Nov. 18, 2006.
