My Father Lived in a Workers' Paradise

My father lived in a workers' paradise. Just the kind of state Democrats want the United States to be. Under the form of government Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Zohran Mamdani are advocating and implementing. A majority of Democrats in the United States, a majority of young people in the United States, are “Democratic Socialists,” a euphemism for communists.

According to a March 2025 survey by the Cato Institute, 62 percent of Americans aged 18–29 support socialism, and 34 percent support communism. As put by the Cato Institute, “This is shocking given that communism is responsible for 100 million deaths worldwide and is rooted in socialism, the same philosophy that spawned …Hitler’s National Socialism.”

In the Soviet Union, human life had no value

This survey is a year and a half old. Since then, support for communism has mushroomed in the United States. Democratic socialists have made a clean sweep of Democratic primaries, steamrolling over “moderate” Democrats. Their calls for ending Israel and for ending capitalism are appealing to evermore young voters.

Yes. my father lived in a democratic socialists’ ideal state. And guess what? He didn't like it.

In the Soviet Union, human life had no value. People were soulless automatons owned by the state. There were no luxuries, no time for enjoyment. It was precisely the opposite of what the United States was once based on; life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Liberty was a forbidden reactionary term.

Starvation was rampant

And the penalty for being concerned was something as bourgeoisie and reactionary as happiness was death.

People were giving just enough spoiled food to live to the next day.

That is if they were lucky. Starvation was rampant.

The penalty for stealing was death. Except if you didn't steal, you didn't have enough food to survive. So everything was dishonest. Everything was a lie. Everything was stolen. And this is what intellectuals in the United States and Canada have long admired.

My father used to talk for hours about what he saw and experienced in a democratic socialist state. I was too stupid to record what he said. But there is one story I remember, one story, I'll never forget. 

One day, the NKVD (the state police) showed up in the town he lived in. They dragged someone to the town square and ordered the populace there. They made this man kneel down, and in front of everybody, blew his brains out. They threw the body into a truck and were off to administer socialist justice in the next town.

This is life under democratic socialism. This what life will be like under the candidates who have swept the Democratic primaries. Enjoy democratic socialism, you young morons who are voting for it.
