National Director of National Precinct Alliance announces a strategic alliance with members of Tea Party Express, aimed at mobilizing constitutional conservatives into GOP precinct positions.

In an internal memo to an estimated 350,000 Tea Party Express members dated February 15, 2010, TPX National Coordinator Joe Wierzbicki called members to action… “There are so many different fronts that we in the tea party movement must fight to take our country back.” “Frequently, we at the Tea Party Express have focused on the "big picture" if you will: raising money for political campaigns - to support the "good guys" or defeat the "bad guys," TV and radio ad campaigns on key issues of the day, organizing mass rallies, spearheading petition campaigns and email/letter/phone call/fax campaigns to key Members of Congress, news conferences, press releases to the media, etc...” “But there is much more that needs to be done. Thankfully there are some great patriots who are helping to organize a national effort to provide tea party supporters such as yourself a fantastic opportunity to really change the way politics work - and ensure that constitutional conservatives are involved in the decision making process of the major political parties.” Wierzbicki ended his memo with the following call to action – ** ACTION ITEM #1 ** (Nationwide): The National Precinct Alliance has been steadily building a network to give tea party supporters and conservative constitutionalists the chance to help take back the major political parties. It involves a grass roots effort at the ground level - to ensure that good people such as yourself can help us take back the political parties by getting involved specifically at the precinct level. From an LA Times story dated the same day as the TPX memo – Conservative activists who once protested the political establishment are now flooding the lowest level of the Republican Party apparatus hoping to take over the party they once scorned -- one precinct at a time. Across the country, tea party groups that had focused on planning rallies are educating members on how to run for GOP precinct representative positions. The representatives help elect county party leaders, who write the platform and, in some places, determine endorsements. "That's where it all starts. That's where the process of picking candidates begins. It's not from [GOP leader] Michael Steele's office down. It's from the ground up," said Philip Glass, whose National Precinct Alliance is among the groups advocating the strategy. "The party is over for the old guard." “In the first nine weeks of operation, we have mobilized more than 30,000 patriots towards precinct power and we are very excited to continue our efforts to move the patriot protest from the town hall to the precinct committee and are very pleased to ally with one of the nation’s largest Tea Party organizations, Tea Party Express, in that effort…” - Glass said. Glass continued – “National Precinct Alliance is not about me, and Tea Party Express is not about its leadership either. Both organizations are about the people and their desire to take their country back from elitists who stopped listening to the people years ago. – As a result, all groups focused upon that goal should work together towards that end. This alliance is the beginning of patriot groups coming together on common goals in common strategies.” Contact Philip Glass at philglass@nationalprecinctalliance.org for further information. © 2010 http://www.nationalprecinctalliance.org
