NATIONAL RIGHT TO LIFE PAC ENDORSES SHARRON ANGLE IN RACE AGAINST HARRY REID

WASHINGTON -- Today, the National Right to Life Political Action Committee (NRL PAC), the political arm of the nation’s largest pro-life organization, endorsed Sharron Angle for U.S. Senate from Nevada. “In the state legislature, Sharron Angle was a strong advocate for life,” said National Right to Life Political Director Karen Cross. “Our endorsement reflects Sharron Angle’s unwavering commitment to renewing a culture of life in Nevada and throughout the nation.”

“Sharron Angle has a perfect pro-life voting record in the Nevada legislature, and was the lead sponsor of pro-life legislation,” said Melissa Clement, President of Nevada Right to Life. “Nevada Right to Life PAC is pleased to join National Right to Life PAC in endorsing Sharron Angle for U.S. Senate.” Angle is challenging Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid who is the author of the recently enacted health care legislation that will provide government funding for health plans that pay for abortion on demand, and promote the rationing of lifesaving medical treatments. “When Reid wrote his health bill, he rejected language that already had been adopted by a big bipartisan majority in the House to prevent federal subsidies for abortion, and he substituted language that would result in federal subsidies for abortion coverage,” said Douglas Johnson, National Right to Life Legislative Director. “This is typical of Reid who for many years has cast occasional pro-life votes for political camouflage when his vote was not decisive, but who has been a major ally to the pro-abortion lobby on big issues.” Sharron Angle opposes using government funding for abortions. Sharron Angle has proven her commitment to protect our most vulnerable citizens – our unborn children. Sharron Angle’s exemplary pro-life voting record should earn her the support of all voters who are concerned with the right to life and with the protection of the most vulnerable members of the human family. Founded in 1980, National Right to Life Political Action Committee, the nation's largest pro-life political action committee, is the political arm of the National Right to Life Committee, the federation of 50 state affiliates and more than 3,000 local chapters.
