Update: Cap Black Is On Jeff Crouere's Ringside Politics With A Punch 7:45 am (central) Tomorrow
On this long Labor Day weekend, many are desperately trying to keep body and soul together on a seemingly ever fraying thread.
In the faraway City of New Orleans, the worst has come to call on job-and-home-seeking CFP writer Nadra Enzi, aka ‘Cap Black’.
Following a life-threatening medical incident, where he temporarily couldn’t go out to find work, 59-year-old Nadra has been issued an eviction order by his landlord.
Hard-working Nadra’s been there before, but through it all, somehow managed to hang on to his dignity.
A talented writer and safety creator combining consulting and advocacy to address safety and community inequity, Nadra has much more to offer than the many so-called “influencers” who dominate the ‘Net.
Indeed, in times where street crime is running riot in cities, Nadra’s professional talents should be very much in demand.
Nadra is one of hundreds of American writers whose columns are regularly posted to Canada Free Press, but hailing from the same city as the lovable and iconic Fats Domino, whose ‘Red Sails In The Sunset’ is a fixture on ‘Judi’s Favorites’ List’, are special to us.
Because CFP finally emerged the winner in a 5-year-long battle with behemoth Google, who sent this May 21st email, ending their debilitating demonetization, we, perhaps naively thought we’d be able to help Nadra financially. We ardently believe that Google owes us the money they denied us during their enforced COVID crackdown on our site.
We are still desperately trying to reach out to ANY live body at Google to prove that we played by their rules—but they didn’t. Before some things were resolved, it got so bad that we were receiving daily automatic notices, ordering to take down our entire site.
Today with Arlo Guthrie’s ballad ‘The City Of New Orleans’ playing in my head, I think of the words of its chorus are so befitting to Nadra:
“Good morning America, how are you
Say, don't you know me, I'm your native son
I'm the train they call the City of New Orleans
I'll be gone five hundred miles when the day is done.”
Knowing there would be no hope in trying to reach out to New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, recently indicted over allegations of trying to hide her relationship with her bodyguard; nor would there be any hope of reaching out to the Republican Governor of New Orleans, Jeff Landry, where to turn?
Still the writer of this article believes in miracles, that there is someone out there somewhere who would care about the hardworking but down on his luck, Nadra Enzi.
Nadra is not looking for charity, but only for work.
In this own words:
Meanwhile, CFP is relying on Almighty God’s Providence to find Nadra work and a roof over his head.
If you happen to see Nadra on the streets of New Orleans, please treat him to a coffee and an encouraging hug.
