Immigration and Reform Act of 1986

Newt is the latest to step into the murky world of illegal immigration.

Presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich is the latest candidate to wander into to the world of illegal immigration before carefully thinking out his words. I am scratching my skull on Newt’s display of compassion for the so-called long-term illegal immigrants who have been in the United States at least 25 years. I continue to be confused by Newt’s lack of memory of the Immigration and Reform Act of 1986.
I understand Newt is eloquent and most highly qualified to be our 45th president. If he wins the nomination, he can count on my 100% support against Barack Hussein Obama. Regrettably, the well-intentioned Gingrich did not think out his words regarding the illegal aliens who currently reside in the United States of America, before he delivered those remarks over national airwaves. Is Newt testing the waters for some kind of an amnesty for the millions who have entered this country illegally and the millions more who derive precious services that are supposed to be directed to American citizens? I believe Newt is doing exactly that. Newt Gingrich needs to adjust his rhetoric and be reminded of his strong support of the bipartisan Alan Simpson (R-Wyoming) and Romano Mazzoli (D- Kentucky), while he served in the House. The Bill signed into Law November 6, 1986 specifically criminalizes the act of knowingly hiring illegal immigrants. In exchange for enforcement of this criminal act, The Immigration Reform and Control Act granted amnesty to 2.8 million illegal immigrants who could identify their entry into the United States before January 1, 1982. I find it curious the millions who illegally entered after the 1986 law was passed are the very same individuals who Newt Gingritch now defends as long-term illegal immigrants who should be not be inhumanly deported. Please do not forget these so called long-term illegals knowingly broke the law. If I come across as inhumane and lacking of compassion, please excuse me; that is not my intention or mind set. Very simply stated, our laws must be respected and followed and should not be exempted for political expediency.

Here’s is what Newt should have said:
  1. The Southern Border must be secured. Nobody comes in to the US without full official knowledge of our Government and the exact physical whereabouts and knowledge of every alien who enters should be verifiable and accurate.
  2. Each State needs to conduct a count of who is and who is not a legal resident of the United States.
  3. The results should be forwarded to Washington, DC. Our Federal government needs to do its job in identifying who is and who is not legally permitted to be here.
  4. A foreign worker program drawn upon the lines of the Bracero Program needs to be established as a pool of labor for the so-called jobs American citizens cannot or will not fill.
  5. Criminal felon illegal aliens should be deported forthwith. Those in prison or jail, upon completion of their sentences should be deported.
  6. No benefits shall be afforded to any illegal alien other than preservation of a life-threatening accident; Native born children who are citizens should be afforded minimum benefits for food and medicine.
  7. I again remind you the immigration law of 1986 should not be summarily ignored. It is a criminal act to knowingly hire non-citizens. When those illegally employed by unscrupulous employers looking to scam the system are supplanted by legal green-card holding workers, many who derive benefits will see the gravy train dry up and I suspect will go home.
  8. American citizenship is off the table and no pathway to citizenship shall be provided to evade the steps noted above. To those who wish to apply, the line forms at the back. In the meantime, go back to your home countries.
Before Newt renders his opinion on this issue and enters the dark landscape of illegal immigration, I suggest he select his words a little more carefully. America is watching and listening very at tentatively. Take back America 2012. ABO. Anybody but Obama!
