November elections

A review of the 2nd Presidential debate leave some things crystal clear and some thing, well, not so much.

Clear was the bias of the moderator. Clear was the President's resolve to be more aggressive. Clear was the determination of both candidates to make their points. Not so clear were the facts. Unfortunately, many will rely on information given during the debate and not the the actual facts revealed post debate. The President was wrong that Planned Parenthood pays for mammograms. The President was also wrong in his insistence that oil drilling has increased during his term. It has not according to the Washington Post. As voters, our job is not simply to go into a booth and mark a ballot. It also to search past the campaign spin to find the truth. It is available though perhaps not widely reported. There is a lot at stake in every election. This year the foundation of our republic, the preservation of our freedoms and the solvency of our country all hang in the balance. If you are not sure who to believe, ask a trusted friend or relative. Seek several viewpoints. And ask yourself-are we better off now than we were in 2008? Which candidate has the experience to bring us back to health as a country? Mitt Romney has a stellar record at saving organizations in trouble and we are in trouble. Victoria Vaughn
