Funniest yet most profound stories one can imagine

Obama can cure the deaf, dumb, and blind

I know a couple in the city in which I reside who told me one of the funniest yet most profound stories one can imagine. The couple is in their 70’s. Unfortunately, the gentleman suffered two strokes some years back and is sadly unable to speak. He is not even able to utter his wife’s name. It is sad to see this couple have to endure this hardship. But persevere they must. No one is permitted to choose life’s curveballs or its outcomes; I am and continue to be grateful for my health and the good health of my family.
Last, week our friends were watching television and President Barack Hussein Obama was delivering one of his many speeches. Suddenly, without notice or provocation, the stroke victim uttered, “Stupid Son of a #.” The wife was aghast. She was stunned not what her husband said, but that he actually spoke at all. The stroke sufferer clearly and articulately uttered the admittedly base remark. Realizing what he actually uttered, she (and her husband) exploded into laughter. One has to admit, irrespective of one’s politics, the incident was quite amusing. When I heard the story, I, too, reacted with a humorous slant. Then, I began to ponder how momentous this flash must have been for our friends. A stroke victim, voiceless, audio trapped within his cerebrum, unable to verbally communicate, and then whoosh, he speaks…and the release was a clear as the NBC jingle. Is it possible I have underestimated the power of Barrack Hussein Obama? This man may have messianic power which cannot and should not be ignored. If this miracle worker can bring this kind of change, “change we can believe in,” this apparently tiny event in the scheme of life is indeed profound. If our president can motivate a speechless stroke victim to verbosity, perhaps other victims who suffer this condition might also be helped.

Here’s a thought: Let’s compile a list of Obama speeches, not unlike the gift the president hand delivered to Queen Elizabeth, two years ago, load the homilies on to hundreds of I-PODS, and have these devices shipped in as therapy to America’s hospitals and medical rehabilitation centers, all in an effort to prompt the stroke victim to coherent speech. It’s brilliant. Our president could be singularly responsible for helping hundreds of thousands of stroke victims. If Obama’s words work, our president would have helped these poor souls who now suffer in silence. Food for thought!
