Oblivious to the real danger

We have been terrorized since 9/11/ 2001, treated as potential criminals in airports, at major sporting events, and when we get our drivers licenses. We are observed by cameras and drones more than we know. Our gun rights are threatened and our privacy is challenged, even our right to practice our religion is restricted.

It is so troubling that the Tea Party is dissected, maligned and blatantly lied about while the truly evil, troubled, disenfranchised that wish us harm are protected and any negative stories are either suppressed or simple avoided. Often, (not always) what we imagine is far worse than the reality. It is past time for the American people to be given the truth about our dangers. Isn't it curious that we were given lots of information so we could participate in the apprehension of the Marathon Bomber but no information to participate in the prevention. Homeland Protection has publicly and boldly proclaimed me a potential terrorist. All the warning signs are out in the open-being a fundamentalist Christian, sporting bumper stickers, flying the American flag, belonging to a Tea Party or a militia. Neither I, nor any like minded person I know has ever terrorized anybody or committed a threatening act. If the same amount of publicity was given any radical group, we the people might have a clue who, what, when and where the danger lies. In the meantime, the uninformed or ill-informed will be damning the Tea Party and oblivious to the real danger. Arnold Avery
