One more pipe dream of the Obama administration

A realignment of community demographics

The Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing regulations represent one more pipe dream that the Obama administration is placing on the backs of taxpayers.

Here's how it works: Communities accepting HUD grant money will be promising to insure that they provide a percentage of housing units to Section 8 subsidized housing recipients. Conversely, people receiving Section 8 housing subsidizes must be willing to relocated out of their cities and move to the suburbs. In order to facilitate this massive resettling, the government has created "mobility agents". Many communities who have pocketed HUD funds will actually have to initiate rezoning. In Florida that rezoning involves State approved Comprehensive Plans. If you follow this initiative to the end, you will see many pitfalls and problems. Such a realignment of community demographics will impact schools, law enforcement, employment, social services, and so much more. One has to wonder where the Section 8 families will be moved from and to where. Will they be from neighboring areas or from far away? This may be another Obama scheme with unintended consequences.
