Open Letter to Yorkton Melville M.P. Garry Breitkreuz

This September, 2011, the Conservative Government of Canada is “keeping it’s promise” to Canadians, and, finally, extinguishing “the Long Gun Registry”. Pre-2006 the Conservatives, including and ‘especially’ Garry Breitkreuz, spoke often, publicly, of a complete repeal of ALL of the LIBERAL gun laws, specifically, Bill C-68. This “about face”, or, deception, requires close examination. One might imagine that a need to be seen as ‘distanced’ from the ‘frightening’ “Canadian gun lobby” has precipitated this watered-down rhetoric.

Yet, for all the “fright” no one experienced any risk, or threat for the offense that Bill C-68 poses to Canadian gun owners. The “Canadian Gun Lobby” consists mainly of individuals who invested the time to do the research online, to uncover the truth of the Liberal gun-control laws, and who also take time to write editorials to newspapers, their M.P.’s, and question or rebut the absolute garbage and propaganda that is regurgitated daily by the lefty media, be it television (public funded CBC) radio, or newspaper. It is as blinders are on securely, for if any identifiable group of citizens were to be so targeted with this magnitude of blatant hatred and prejudice, the “Canadian human rights Commission” would be having a heyday extraordinaire. What is just gross about this experience is that Yorkton Melville M.P. Garry Breitkreuz WAS the CHAMPION of honest Canadian gun owners, he did even receive an award, presented to him by Keith Tidswell, an international ambassador award, if memory serves. For Garry’s tireless effort in exposing the lies and graft, the public deception, all, apparently, not for any “sterling” high moral values, but only to politically bash the now-defunct Liberal party. (Tip of the hat to Garry’s assistant Dennis Young.) Now, as the Liberal party carefully lick the wounds after their recent political thrashing, the “strong, Stable, MAJORITY CONSERVATIVE GOVERNMENT” HIDES YORKTON MELVILLE M.P. GARRY BREITKREUZ in some obscure backroom, he was, in fact, very likely the MOST, BEST INFORMED Canadian on the Canadian Firearms file, “Bill C-68,” The Firearms Act, and Every dirty, dishonest, crooked deal that the Liberals authored, was met with his fierce rebuttal, with the execution of some six-hundred and thirty access-to-information requests in hand, and posted on his website, Nobody knew BETTER the evils of Bill C-68, which is, POL/PAL forced Licensing, by criminalization for possession of legitimately owned/purchased firearms, as well as Registration, YET, NOW, M.P. Candice Hoeppner, cute as she is, has “resumed” Garry B’s work, with much less zeal, accuracy, truth, or accountability. For What vile deed have Canadian Gun owners been awarded such a wet-noodled back-peddle from what is generally accepted as “RIGHT and WRONG” ? Sleep soundly, Mr. Breitkreuz, as well, the uninformed mass of Conservative M.P.s, for you do so, as hateful, prejudiced laws remain on the books, Honest citizens face the wrath that is Bill C-68, where criminal charges replace common sense, and honest people’s lives are destroyed in the courts, in MANY cases, in court for the FIRST time in their lives, hopelessly facing this section of laws in the Criminal code of Canada, which has been correctly described as a “legal tar-ball with Fish Hooks” for its bias against gun owners, any favorable legal outcome is unlikely.
