Paid-With-American-Dollars MSM Still Providing Cover for Cuomo’s America Was Never That Great Smear New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, now hopelessly trying to walk back his smear that America “was never that great”, uses the wrong word to describe his hateful smear. “After being widely criticized, Cuomo called his remarks ‘inartful’ and said America is and always has been great.” (NewsBusters) Cuomo is above all, a most despicable ingrate.
“As of 2008, the salary of New York's governor ranked 2nd among U.S. governors' salaries. The average salary earned by U.S. governors was $128,735.[ (Wikipedia) Cuomo’s father, Mario Matthew Cuomo was an American politician of the Democratic Party. He served as the 52nd Governor of New York for three terms, from 1983 to 1994, Lieutenant Governor of New York from 1979 to 1982. You might say that America has been more than generous to the Cuomo family. “Upon taking office on January 1, 2011, Cuomo said that he would cut his pay and that of the lieutenant governor, the governor's secretary, counsel, director of state operations, counselor and chief of staff by 5%.” (Wikipedia) A measly 5%? How magnanimous of him! The paltry 5% was a lip-paying kind of gesture, just as using the quaint word ‘inartful’ to hide behind the insult to his own country is downright disingenuous. Cut the cake as “inartfully” as possible, but Andrew Cuomo will still be the first elected official to use the concept of America “never being that great” that originated with ex-president Barack Hussein Obama.

Obama said it in dozens of different ways when bashing America from abroad, but set about the ‘Fundamental Transformation of America’, a mission he pushed for eight interminably long years in office, and one he still tries to impose on the masses as ‘Resistance Leader’ in hiding. This is likely why the ungrateful to America Governor of New York thought he could get away by stating that “America was never that great”. In the destructive liberal politics of the day, what’s good for the goose is just as good, if not better, for the gander. Cuomo knew that in a pinch he could always count on the mainstream media for cover. The media has remained steadfastly silent after Cuomo’s anti-America smear.
“The CBS Evening News broke the silence by the network’s news operation with a 26-second news brief.  (NewsBusters, Aug. 17, 2018) “The move followed CBS’s The Late Show from Thursday when even liberal host Stephen Colbert and former Obama staffers-turned-Pod Save America hosts blasted Cuomo’s gaffe. “New York Governor Andrew Cuomo today addressed a controversial remark he made earlier this week. Here is what the Democratic Governor, running for re-election, said on Wednesday,” anchor Jeff Glor stated in teeing up the infamous Cuomo clip.

“We're not going to make America great again. It was never that great,” Cuomo argued. The entire news brief was accompanied by this chyron: “Governor Apologizes; Cuomo Under Fire for Saying U.S. ‘Never That Great.’” “After the clip, Glor concluded that “after being widely criticized, Cuomo called his remarks ‘inartful’ and said America is and always has been great.” “NBC was the first broadcast network to break through as Thursday’s Today had a 37-second news brief on Cuomo’s anti-American rhetoric. With the addition of CBS’s news brief, the total network coverage for Cuomo’s troubling condemnation bumps up to a still-paltry one minute and 3 seconds. “With CBS joining the fray, that leaves ABC as the lone broadcast network to still be covering for Cuomo as he faces reelection and a primary battle against actress Cynthia Nixon. Below is the relevant transcript from August 17's CBS Evening News with Jeff Glor. CBS Evening News with Jeff Glor August 17, 2018 6:40 p.m. Eastern [ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: 'Inartful]'

[ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: Governor Apologizes; Cuomo Under Fire for Saying U.S. ‘Never That Great’] JEFF GLOR: New York Governor Andrew Cuomo today addressed a controversial remark he made earlier this week. Here is what the Democratic Governor, running for re-election, said on Wednesday:  NEW YORK DEMOCRATIC GOVERNOR ANDREW CUOMO: We're not going to make America great again. It was never that great.  GLOR: Today, after being widely criticized, Cuomo called his remarks “inartful” and said America is and always has been great.”
Interesting to note that the talking heads of the networks providing cover for Cuomo, including his brother Chris Cuomo over at CNN, all make their living in the same America the New York governor smeared. Meanwhile, timing in politics is everything. Obama threw brickbats at the country he was elected to serve from abroad knowing he was safely in the Oval Office. But even with the media providing coverage for him, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is running for re-election. Make that running for re-election as New York state’s “inartful dodger”.
