After receiving his reply to my email, I thought to myself, "I'll bet that there are more than a few liberals who agree with my friend." That thought led me to consider the possibility that there are probably several areas where conservatives and liberals (at least moderate liberals) share some common ground, but more about that in a moment.
For now, let me share the short email exchange between my friend and myself. I've changed his name to "Lefty," in order to protect his anonymity. Immediately below are the two emails, including the links I provided.

The redistribution of wealth would indeed "up" the standard of living for the impoverished of the world, and the "connected" super wealthy would get wealthier. In the meantime, the hated bourgeois (middle-class), and any "unconnected" wealthy, will be wiped out, and America's standard of living will drastically plummet (not to mention the rest of Western Civ -- which is despised by the Far Left anyway ["Hey, hey, ho, ho, Western Civ has got to go."]). Here, we agree. I believe our focus - all of us - should be to bust up politics and money. Period.
I would take any and all issues off the table to get to the Robinhood-work of our age; which isn't to intercept nobles on the way to Prince John's, but to intercept the money-capital that flows into the pockets of politicians on their way to public office. They're bought and paid for before they get there. As near as I can tell, that includes almost all of them.
You shouldn't be able to buy elections. People shouldn't be able to just cut a check from their personal coffers, or from the personal coffers of wealthy donors, and buy their way into power.
Until money and politics are divorced, Washington will be bought and paid for.

That being said, there is no doubt that there are a number of conservatives whose patriotism is suspect, and a number of liberals whose patriotism is undeniable.
Most traditional conservatives are, of course, to be found on the right side of the political spectrum, but if we expand the meaning of conservative to include all American patriots, then a growing number of "conservatives" are emerging from the liberal side of things.
They are increasingly of the opinion that "Hey, we didn't sign up for
this." "This" being the radical, Far Left, anti-American stance of the Obama Administration.
Besides the shared greed, corruption, and dangerous collusion between big banking/big business/big government, there are other areas where liberals are gradually forming common-cause with traditional conservatives -- illegal immigration, and the Islamization of America, for example.

Why am I interested in finding and promoting common-ground rallying points? Because America is currently in a fight for its life. While liberals and traditional conservatives can, and will, passionately disagree about any number of issues, I believe that it's important that patriotic Americans -- left and right -- rally around common-ground causes whenever we can.

There are relatively few such unifying issues, and attraction to them isn't evenly split along party lines. Nonetheless, I suggest that we use them -- wisely.
Even as Americans are finding reasons to unify, the NWO (New World Order) are finding crack-lines in their unified front.

When Zbigniew Brzezinski said recently at a meeting of the CFR (Council on Foreign Relations) that "For the first time in all of human history, mankind is politically awakened," he didn't mean it as a compliment -- but as a warning to fellow NWO globalists.

Brzezinski also mentioned that "global political leadership...has now become much more diversified; unlike what it was until relatively recently." So, according to Brzezinski, the global elites are more diverse than before, and "we the people" are more politically astute than ever.
This is not exactly welcome information, if you're hoping to herd docile "sheeple" into a global "people's utopia," governed by a unified ruling elite.

I believe that "we the people" need to double-down and put the pedal to the metal ourselves. We need to fragment the globalist NWO agenda, with as many effective pro-active counter-measures as we can -- from as many different, unexpected angles as we can come up with.
There will be no next-time for "we the people" either -- this is "make it or break it" time for us as well. The use of a patriotic common-cause, is merely one among a number of techniques we can use -- albeit an important one.
If you believe that individuals have the right to be as successful as they can be, based on their own merits and hard work, then you have common-ground with all patriotic Americans. If you feel that the infiltration of America by illegal foreign invaders must stop, then you share common-ground with all patriotic Americans. If you believe that radical Islam is a grave danger to the United States, then you share common-ground with all patriotic Americans.
If you believe in the master-race/slave-race scenario of the NWO globalists, then know that patriotic Americans, and freedom loving individuals world-wide, are becoming increasingly cognizant of your plans, and will passionately oppose your agenda.
