Pay Attention. God Has Spoken

On December 17, 2023, an event happened which I thought so significant that I had to investigate and verify. It was an event that had almost no recognition in the legacy media but went viral on the internet among those interested in the Vatican and the Roman Catholic Church.

There is a chapel outside Buenos Aires in Argentina called Sanctuary María del Rosario de San Nicolás. According to the news available, lightning struck a statue of St. Peter on the facade of the building. The sanctuary website has very little information and no pictures apart from one of the building from the front.

This sanctuary is in Jorge Mario Bergoglio’s (Pope Francis) home diocese. The event happened on Bergoglio’s 87th birthday and the day before he released the document that essentially authorizes the blessing of same-sex unions, called Fiducia Supplicans.

The lightning destroyed the halo on the statue and the right hand that held a key symbolizing the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 16:19 KJV). The halo I believe, symbolizes Peter’s holiness which I consider a gift of grace (Holiness: A Short Guide to a Complicated Doctrine). The articles that I cited explain that the destruction of the right hand is of the hand traditionally by which blessings are given.

The event and its implications are reported extensively in Catholic media (e.g. Real or Fake? Lightning Reportedly Maims Statue of St. Peter in Buenos Aires and Buenos Aires: lightning on the halo and keys of St. Peter. Bergoglio at the end of the road?). Vatican authorities are either mum or dismissive (understandingly).

As I Interpret the Event

That the event happened on Bergoglio’s birthday in his home diocese may be taken as a specific identification of his person. That it happened as he was about to release a deeply apostate declaration further points to him.

The Pope is called the Vicar of Christ after Peter who was given that role by Jesus. Only to Peter of the 12 disciples did he give the charge:

15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. -- John 21:15-17, KJV

It is a supreme responsibility passed down by Divine authority to guard the Lord’s flock. Again the choice of the statue of St. Peter points to Bergoglio as The Vicar of Christ..

Simply put, God has stripped Bergoglio of his holiness by grace, of his right to confer Divine blessings of anything, and taken away from him the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven

The Threefold Warning

The first warning is to Bergoglio to repent and seek forgiveness before it is too late.

The second is to the hierarchy and the clergy of the Roman Catholic church that there is great apostasy at the top including the office of the Pope.

The third warning is to the sheep, the great Catholic congregation worldwide. A wolf is in charge of the sheepfold. Sift everything through the sieve of the Holy Spirit. There are those wonderful passages in the bible for those who have called Christ into their lives:

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. -- Rev. 3:20, John 14:23, KJV

You have living within you, the presence of Christ and the presence of God. They never go anywhere without the Holy Spirit, so he’s in there too. These are not simply words. If you spend time in prayer, meditation and fasting, and as you shut out more of the world, you find more and more room for them. You can feel it. So ask them what is true and what is not, what is good and what is evil, what is of God and what is of Satan.

If I am right, and I’ve taken this into prayer, the Catholic Church no longer has a pope at its head except in name only.

In 1998 he took a leave of absence from the federal government and worked as a consultant to Ontario Hydro Nuclear for 15 months in Y2K risk management. He retired from the government in 2000, went on to earn an MCS degree at Carleton, 2002, and subsequently completed the requirements for a PhD except for a dissertation.

Several years of graduate studies have equipped him to do thorough background research and analysis on topics he finds engaging. He is owner of the eclectic blog, The POOG. The acronym “POOG” came from a forgotten source: “pissed-off old guy”. A web search found a more flattering but accurate association: ”The mightiest of all men. He fights ignorant darkness in the name of wisdom, truth, courage, and honor.”

Ian lives in Ottawa.
