Fido and Fifi will soon have their very own airline.
A Delray Beach company called Pet Airways said Thursday it plans flights for dogs and cats only to regional airports near five major cities. Weekly flights are scheduled to launch July 14 between New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles.
The airline will use commuter planes operated by Suburban Airlines and will initially fly to those destinations, said Alysa Binder, founder and executive vice president. The average fare will be about $250 each way, Binder said, noting that will vary on pet sizes and needs.
