Politicians in poverty

A recent remark by Hillary Clinton serves to remind us all that those in the seats of power have no connection, comprehension or compassion for the American people.

Hillary said they were "dead broke" when Bill left office. No, Ms. Clinton, you were not dead broke. You had a home and a way to pay the electric and mortgage; you had a car, registered, insured and with fuel in the tank. You had food. You had a way to generate future income. You and your husband had the best of healthcare, Presidential pension and security that taxpayer money can buy. The feeble attempt to gain sympathy or to identify with the common man insults all of us. And it left me wondering, if politicians lived the life of a family living on the edge for 6 months as a qualification to run, would their actions if elected be different? I'm betting that they would be. I recommend a refresher before every reelection candidacy as well. Charity Eavey
