President begging for campaign dollars

In a truth-is-stranger-than-fiction revelation, the President is now begging for the baby's birth gifts, little Johnny's birthday money, the college graduate's congratulation gifts, and the happy couple's wedding gifts. This feels tacky and tasteless and would seem to signal desperation in the Obama camp. Is there nothing sacred? What an embarrassment to the American people that their President would stoop to this level. What's next? It's hard to imagine. Perhaps asking for Grandpa's Social Security? As a country and as a people, we must start moving the bar higher for our elected officials. Not only will we be able to hold our heads high at home but around the world our standing would be elevated. In reality, we almost have nowhere to go but up when it comes to leadership, character, and values. We can change this in Nov. but only if we get out and vote. Merideth White Englewood, FL
