imageTrying to keep up with all the latest technologies from Bogota is part of my job at Bogota Free Planet (BFP). Through Canada Free Press (CFP) mentors, I knew about the power of Twitter during the Iranians courageous fight for freedom against the regime of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. When the brutality of the regime hit, Twitter was the only means the Iranians had for getting their message out to the world.

I said a little prayer thanking the Creator for Twitter back then. So you can imagine the “elation” (do I use that word correctly, CFP?) when we saw that Colombian presidential candidate Juan Manuel Santos was following BFP on Twitter!!! I boasted to all my friends on the Net, but some of them didn’t believe me. Santos’ savvy on Twitter shouldn’t surprise anyone. He’s been a columnist for some 14 newspapers and printer’s ink is in his blood as his family owns the respected El Tiempo. More... Rodrigo Pardo is the Managing Editor of Bogota Free Planet.
