Imagine that your child is in a school where another child brings a homemade device that is ticking. The teacher questions him, he says it's a clock, the teacher accepts the explanation, carries on with class and the device explodes, killing or maiming
your child and many others.
That failure to act would be catastrophic for everyone involved. It would also have been totally preventable.
Educators are expected to make decisions based on the welfare of all of the children in their care.
They can't afford to get it wrong. Political correctness can't enter into the equation. Sometimes they'll over react. I'm good with that when it comes to my kids.
And I respect the serious way that the educators that I know approach their responsibilities.
