To the Clinton/Kaine ticket it means creating a system that allows everyone who is here illegally to stay and to enjoy the benefits of citizenship, in direct conflict with existing law. There might be a few requirements that would be designed to hide the reality that they are essentially being granted amnesty. To Trump and Pence, immigration reform means securing the border, removing sanctuary city designations and stopping their funding, immediately deporting any illegal criminals, then, and only then, working to create a path to citizenship and rewriting immigration policy. As informed voters, it is critical that we understand what both camps mean when the speak about immigration and what the result of both policies will be.
