No wonder why Democrats and their Hollywood friends have a strong dose of Obamamania. On the very day Osama bin Laden sent word that for Al Qaeda the fight for the Palestinian cause was the most important factor driving its war with the west and what fueled 19 Muslims to carry out the suicide attacks against the United States on September 11, Barack Hussein Obama was blaming President George W. Bush of “the kind of appalling attack that’s divided our country and that alienates us from the world.” Out on the hustings wannabe presidents don’t always get the message. Here is the import of bin Laden’s message for campaign busy Obama: “To Western nations…this speech is to understand the core reason of the war between our civilization and your civilians, I mean the Palestinian cause.”

Before Oprah Winfrey comes along and wraps it up into another potential miracle, that’s bin Laden’s latest message. But even as the Friday message was being analyzed, Obama, who was responding to Bush’s Thursday speech to the Israeli Knesset, was rebuking Republican rival John McCain and Bush for “dishonest, divisive” attacks in hinting that the Democratic presidential candidate would appease terrorists. “I’m a strong believer in civility and I’m a strong believer in bipartisan foreign policy, but that cause is not served with dishonest, divisive attacks of the sort that we’ve seen out of George Bush and John McCain over the last couple of days,” Obama told about 2,000 voters at a town hall-style meeting in a livestock barn.” ( www.briebart.com, May 16, 2008). “During his swing through South Dakota, the Democratic front-runner said he had intended to focus on rural issues, but felt compelled to respond to the criticism from Bush and McCain.” Guess hard-pressed farmers and rural landowners in the region will have to wait for yet another day. When you’re the Dem front-runner, nothing--not even bin Laden’s terror talk--is as important as venting your spleen when someone has taken a crack at you. In his speech to the Israeli Knesset, President Bush referred to the leader of Iran, who has called for the destruction of the U.S. ally and then said some seem to believe that we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals—comments Obama and Democrats said were directed at them. Who else? Even George W. knows that Neville Chamberlain is long gone. McCain subsequently said Obama must explain why he wants to talk with rogue leaders. If the mainstream media can’t find the courage to ask Obama meaningful questions about his real agenda after securing the White House, why should he be queried by the likes of opponent John McCain? “Obama said McCain had a “naive and irresponsible belief that talk from Washington will somehow cause Iran to give up its nuclear program and support for terrorism.” Dem diplomacy and kumbaya hugs will, though? “They (Bush and McCain) aren’t telling you the truth. They are trying to fool you and scare you because they can’t win a foreign policy debate on the merits,” said Obama. “But it’s not going to work. Not this time, not this year.” Incidentally Bush did not mention Obama by name in his speech, but Obama and “other Democrats” said the implication was clear. “If they want a debate about protecting the United States of America, that’s a debate I’m ready to win because George Bush and John McCain have a lot to answer for,” Obama said. He blamed Bush’s policies for enhancing the strength of terrorist groups such as Hamas and “the fact that al-Qaeda’s leadership is stronger than ever because we took our eye off the ball in Afghanistan, among other failings.” While it’s debatable that al-Qaeda’s leadership is stronger than ever, it is not winning political debates that will keep Western civilization free from the kind of terrorism practiced by al Qaeda, Mr. Obama. It’s knowing in your heart that parlay doesn’t work with them.
