It's impossible to absorb the world's tens of million refugees. Helping a tiny minority of lucky ones makes things worse for the unlucky ones and encourages more arrivals. It doesn't solve the foundational problem.

Of course, we must provide temporary help for women and children. But their strategic needs and ours require that we train and arm able-bodied refugees so they can fight to regain their homelands. Colin Alexander Ottawa
