Remember the Founding

Remembering the founding of America is appropriate as we celebrate the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. Had His birth not taken place, what we know as the United States of America would not likely exist. Without Christ there would have been no Catholic Church, and without the Catholic Church there would have been no Martin Luther to precipitate reform. Without protestant reform there would have been no Pilgrims to ride the Mayflower to the shores of North America. One might say that Jesus Christ is a direct forefather to the birth of the United States of America.

Now is not a bad time to reflect on the words of our acknowledged Founding Fathers concerning God and the Christian religion.

It is quite appropriate to close with this prayer.

Daily, frame me more and more in the likeness of Thy son, Jesus Christ, that living in Thy fear, and dying in Thy favor, I may in Thy appointed time obtain the resurrection of the justified unto eternal life. Bless, O Lord, the whole race of mankind and let the world be filled with the knowledge of Thee and Thy son, Jesus Christ." ~ George Washington
