“Republicans are Racist” rhetoric

Democrats are continually insinuating Republicans are racist. They use this tactic whenever a Republican criticizes the Left.

It is widely believed the Democrats are the party for the downtrodden and minorities; and the Republicans are for big business. A few facts most people don’t know about what Republicans have done for this country.

1. Which party voted in 1857 declaring blacks were not citizens, but property? DEMOCRATS.
2. Which party passed the 13th Amendment abolishing slavery? REPUBLICANS
3. Which party passed the 14th Amendment declaring slaves were full citizens? REPUBLICANS (Not ONE Democratic politician voted for this amendment)
4. Which partie’s President freed the slaves? Abraham Lincoln, a REPUBLICAN
5. Which party passed the 15th Amendment granting blacks voting rights? REPUBLICANS
6. Which political party started the KKK? DEMOCRATS. (Remember the beloved West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd, a Klan Grand Wizard.)
7. The leader of the REPUBLICAN-sponsored NAACP, in 1909 was a REPUBLICAN.
8. The 1957 Civil Rights Act, opposed by Democrats, was signed by Eisenhower, a REPUBLICAN.

I could go on, but you get the message. It is time to stop this “Republicans are Racist” rhetoric and start speaking the truth. This is a message Republicans must drive home - so here is your start. Get to work! Debbie Curran
