CALGARY, ALBERTA-- On Wednesday, the University of Calgary will announce a $1 million gift from the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society that enables the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to investigate cutting-edge research into skin regeneration.
The donation establishes a new research chair in skin regeneration and wound healing. It fosters a unique collaboration between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Centre in the Foothills Hospital. The program has the dual purpose of supporting groundbreaking research into the use of stem cells in new skin regeneration and the training of clinician researchers.
