Return Veteran’s Voice to Facebook, Mr. Zuckerberg!Among all the voices currently banned from the ‘Net by ego maniac Mark Zuckerberg, Robert Rosebrook’s is surely the most tragic. Facebook’s tyrannical banning of Rosebrook has, in effect, banned the entire veteran voice from social media. In other words, Mark Zuckerberg denies the voice of all those who paid for his personal freedom with their very lives.
How can it be that the thriving founder of Facebook could ban one of the most worthy groups in our society with nary a peep from politicians and media of the day?! Nor is Facebook the only social media outlet burying Mr. Rosebrook’s courageous voice. Google has arrogantly and cruelly totally delisted him. Readers can see for themselves that it’s akin to Googling a name that somehow mysteriously just doesn’t exist! I’m mourning the loss of Rosebrook’s voice in particular today, July 4th when memories of how veterans won freedom for each and everyone of us should be most prominent on our minds. The following is what I wrote about this tireless defender of veterans on Nov.11, 2020, and I meant every word of it:
“God Bless you, Mr. Rosebrock for your service to your country and your fight for all of her veterans. “This Veterans Day, I’m thinking of 78-year-old veteran Robert Rosebrock and his courageous and relentless efforts to have a a roof put over the heads of thousands of America’s homeless veterans, still tragically aimlessly languishing and sleeping on the streets of L.A.—with no politician stepping up to champion their cause.

“Legions of politicians will be out in droves today at town and city cenotaphs laying wreaths in honor of the nation’s war dead. "While some of them are sincere in intent, others turn out for virtue signalling and photo-ops. “To some of these ones Veterans Day is but one day a year, to Robert Rosebrock Veterans Day is EVERY Day of the year.. “Like an indelible vision of long-gone soldiers that live forever in the memories of their loved ones, Robert Rosebrock has appeared for more than 500 consecutive Sundays and every Memorial Day since March 9, 2008 outside the gates of the Greater Los Angeles Veterans Affairs (GLAVA) park calling public attention to America’s abandoned homeless veterans. (Canada Free Press, Feb. 24, 2017)
“It’s a tragic pictorial of homeless and hungry war veterans coming to peer longingly through the gates at what is rightfully theirs through a wrought iron fence. The grounds on which the park is located was deeded to veterans back in 1888—“to be permanently maintained as a National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers.”
“Just as the memories of all those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of others live on in patriotic hearts, Rosebrock will never go away as long as veterans are out on the streets with no place, other than makeshift tents, to call home.

Unflinchingly loyal to the cause

“For more than the past Sundays of 12 consecutive years, he has joined veterans at the gates of the LA VA. “Unflinchingly loyal to the cause “to give our vets a home of their own”, nothing has stopped him—not even when the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision granting qualified immunity to VA police officers who twice arrested the Vietnam era veteran all for allegedly taking unauthorized photographs of American Flags on Memorial Day 2016. “Rosebrock was initially cited for allegedly taking unauthorized photographs of American Flags on Memorial Day 2016, at the entrance to a public park on West LA VA campus. The following Sundays, June 12 and 19, 2016, VA police officers at the West LA VA cited and arrested Rosebrock and seized his cameras for allegedly taking unauthorized photographs of the officers at the same park entrance. During the June 12 arrest, Rosebrock was handcuffed, mistreated, and forced into the back of a police vehicle. (Tom Fitton, Judicial Watch, Oct. 23, 2020.)
“Rosebrock was subsequently acquitted of any wrongdoing in a criminal case in which he was represented by Judicial Watch. In a cynical appeal of that ruling, the court found that the law under which Rosebrock had been charged – which expressly authorized photography for “news purposes” at “entrances” – did not prohibit anything. “In June 2017, Judicial Watch filed suit on Rosebrock’s behalf in federal court in Los Angeles, alleging that the officers violated his Fourth Amendment rights (Robert L. Rosebrock v. Michael Perez, et al. (Case No. 2:17-cv-04354) (C.D. Cal.). The officers appealed when the trial court rejected their claims of “qualified immunity,” a controversial, court-made doctrine that often allows police officers to avoid accountability for their actions. “In their appeal, the officers argued that, even if the law under which they arrested Rosebrock did not prohibit the photography in question, they still had reason to arrest Rosebrock because, among other disingenuous claims, “protest” signs lying face down, under a jacket, constituted an “unauthorized demonstration” on VA property and that Rosebrock was “loitering” on VA property because he was at the entrance to the VA park on a Sunday afternoon, without an “official purpose,” when VA offices were closed. “It is a miscarriage of justice that the Ninth Circuit would allow the VA police officers who arrested Rosebrock to escape accountability for their actions. The court does not appear to have even considered the compelling arguments Judicial Watch made on Rosebrock’s behalf or the trial court’s reasoning in rejecting the officers’ qualified immunity claims.”

Robert Rosebrook is a hero of the real world, an admirable lifelong soldier, whose voice deserves to be heard

“Every Veterans Day matters, because none of us would be here were it not for all those who sacrificed their lives for our peace, our liberty and freedom. “But surely Veterans Day comes on a sad note this year because the sacrifice of all those who died for our liberty and freedom could be denied— taken away by forces who work to turn America over to the certain death of Socialism and Communism. “Meanwhile, on Veterans Day 2021, God willing, Robert Rosebrock will be in his usual place fighting for all war veterans. “But in the midst of an Election stolen by the Democrats and a media-declared ‘President-Elect,” will America still be?”
This is CFP’s message for Mark Zuckerberg on July 4, 2022: “Your ability to carry on in your unrealistic world of the absurd Meta Verse, would not even have been remotely possible without the freedom veterans paid for with their blood. Robert Rosebrook is a hero of the real world, an admirable lifelong soldier, whose voice deserves to be heard.
