Poll shocker in Nevada

SHARRON ANGLE TAKES THE LEAD IN NEVADA U.S. SENATE RACE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 3, 2010 Despite a last-minute blitz of attack ads against her (running into the hundreds of thousands of dollars), tea party activist Conservative Republican Sharron Angle has seen her poll numbers rise even further. According to a brand new Suffolk University Political Research poll, Angle has now jumped to an 8% lead over former front-runner Sue Lowden. The previous two polls conducted in this race had Angle trailing Sue Lowden by 1% (Mason-Dixon) while a Public Policy Polling survey had Angle actually ahead of Lowden by 3%.

The Tea Party Express endorsed Angle on April 15th at a National Press Club news conference in Washington, D.C. At the time Angle was at 5% in the polls and badly trailed Sue Lowden who was at 47%. After a nearly $500,000 advertising blitz by the Tea Party Express (and a new $400,000 ad campaign by the Club for Growth which began advertising for Angle last week) Angle has now erased that deficit and has taken the lead. "We're ecstatic to see the momentum continuing to build for Sharron Angle. It's refreshing to see her rise in the polls especially in light of the fact that all of the advertising done by both the Tea Party Express and Angle campaign has been completely positive," said Joe Wierzbicki, Coordinator for the Tea Party Express. The Tea Party Express has been on a roll lately with the organization's involvement in political races. The Tea Party Express made headlines earlier this year after it backed Republican Scott Brown's upset win in Massachusetts. The Tea Party Express spent $350,000 backing Brown. Next the Tea Party Express announced a $250,000 campaign to Defeat Congressman Bart Stupak after he betrayed his constituents and voted for the Obama healthcare plan. After spending just over $60,000 in the race, and in the middle of the Tea Party Express bus tour through Stupak's district, Stupak announced he was retiring from Congress. The Tea Party Express also backed Rand Paul in his successful primary campaign in Kentucky. In addition, the Tea Party Express put Senator Arlen Specter and Congressman Alan Mollohan on its Target List - and both were defeated in their respective primaries. "Sharron Angle says it best when she notes there is a tsunami of conservatism sweeping this nation. Those who have failed the American people are being swept away by this tea party tide, and it is truly historic," Wierzbicki concluded. *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** **** Media organizations wishing to schedule an interview with a representative of the Tea Party Express, should contact Levi Russell at (509) 979-6615 or via email at: Levi@FrontLineStrat.com
