Silly, self-aggrandizing Socialist Prime MinisterPrime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez is out in left field trying to make a name for himself by banning praying the Rosary in public.

Only a silly Socialist would try to ban a prayer that saved the Western World from barbarian Islamists during the epic Battle of LePanto, way back in 1571.

During that epic naval battle, won by the Christian West, Don Quixote writer Miguel de Cervantes was, as a member of a Spanish Navy Infantry regiment, seriously wounded, losing the use of his left arm and hand.

Is should come as no surprise that Pedro Sánchez is what Canada Free Press would call, a “WEFer”, CFP’s term for the rabid followers of the crazed Klaus Schwab, World Economic Forum (WEF).

Months before dashing to put a chokehold on Mary’s Holy Rosary, Sánchez was “the main event” at the Jan. 16, 2023 World Economic Forum in Davos, speaking to a pre-arranged, spellbound audience of political and economic leaders gathered in the Swiss city.

“Many international alliances have indeed strengthened after COVID and the invasion of Ukraine –particularly in the realm of defense. But are we not also seeing borders become more closed to both people and goods, and support for many multilateral organizations fade? Are we doing enough to fight inequality and social injustice, and to prevent further autocratic leaders like Putin from emerging? And, what is equally important, are we doing everything in our hands to tackle climate change, or are we using this crisis as an excuse to slow down the green transition? (World Economic Forum, Jan 17, 2023)

"I believe this to be right moment, and the right place, to ask ourselves these questions. And to realize that, if the answer is “no” to any of them, then it means that we need to wake up. Because there is much at stake. Much more than the performance of our economies on the next quarter
"Our present struggle is not only against Putin or the energy shortage. It is also against fear, mistrust, selfishness, xenophobia, and environmental disaster. And its outcome will define life in the West and beyond for decades to come.

"That is why I think that we should do more. That we should use this opportunity to remake and strengthen our international architecture, to redouble our commitment to our liberal and democratic values, and to craft new rules and new leadership that will allow us to effectively overcome the great challenges of our time, such as climate change and inequality.
"If not now, when? If not us, who?"

“The Prime Minister of the Government of Spain placed particular emphasis on the issue of inequality, warning about the loss of purchasing power and the struggle of citizens to gain decent employment. "They struggle to buy a house, to provide a good education for their children, and many of them find it impossible to save for a holiday or a decent retirement". In this sense, Pedro Sánchez recalled that the number of multimillionaires "continues to grow" and large multinational companies "continue to increase their profits, even at the expense of others”. (La Moncloa, Jan. 17, 2023)

If “the number of multimillionaires "continues to grow" and large multinational companies "continue to increase their profits, even at the expense of others”, than why is Sánchez still trucking with them?

“Since his arrival in Davos on Monday 16 January, the Prime Minister of the Government of Spain has held several meetings with senior executives of major companies from around the world, some of which have already deployed projects in Spain. In this regard, he held an informal meeting with CEOs and senior executives from Spanish companies, as well as bilateral meetings of various kinds. He therefore held a meeting with Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum, and with senior executives from companies that are committed to Spain as an investment destination. (La Moncloa)
“Pedro Sánchez has met with the CEOs of major companies, such as Cisco, Qualcomm, Dow Chemical, Air Liquide and AncelorMitall. Pedro Sánchez has held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the Inter-American Investment Bank (IDB), and has been able to convey to the Executive Director of Oxfam International, Gabriela Bucher, the Government of Spain's commitment to the fight against inequality.
"Prime Minister Sánchez has also held meetings with the two CEOs of the two largest investment funds in the world: Mubadala and BlackRock. The two senior executives have conveyed to the Prime Minister of the Government of Spain their confidence in Spain's economic prospects and their commitment to renewing their investments in sustainability and digitalisation.”

Today we can add banning the Rosary to Sánchez’s sick bucket list.

Rosary Priest Fr. Patrick Peyton must be turning in his grave this Christmastide.

It will be 15 years to the day on Christmas Eve morning, 2023 that Canada Free Press visited Fr. Peyton’s grave site.

Barack Obama had just been elected president. We remember tuning in to Rush Limbaugh to retrieve our flagging spirits during the long car ride from Burlington, Ontario, to North Easton, MA.

Fr. Peyton’s grave, decorated with multiple Rosaries was the last one we found during a snow and ice storm with the help of Robin and her daughter, strangers to us until Christmas Eve morning, 2008.

The words ending my 2008 column, ‘Rosaries in the Snow’ ended this way: It is Christmas Day 2008 and Jesus Christ is King.

I am ending this one with the words, “It’s Christmas time 2023 and Jesus Christ is STILL King.”

Pray your Rosary often and fervently for Almighty God’s Protection from windmill tilter, WEFer Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez.
