Smearing Trump as ‘The Alien’ down Mexico Way

‘President Donald Trump The Alien’, framed in a skeleton image on a billboard, towering above one of the busiest roads in Mexico City, sarcastically urges motorists to “Make America Great Again”. Take a gander at ‘Donald Trump the Alien’ who looks like a more macabre ‘Donald Trump the bigot’,”racist” and “misogynist”.
We get it, Chicago-based artist Mitch O’Connell. Problem is so do the unhinged, leftist loonies and assorted psychopaths on the loose. When fever-pitch wishes that Trump was a skeleton or corpse don’t work anymore, the next best thing is portraying him as one on a major roadway. Mentally zapping him like a mosquito, hexing him when the moon is waning, screaming insults about him during street protests is what some people live for. Oh, but just like fellow artiste Kathy Griffin posing in a picture holding the president’s bloodied decapitated head, ‘The Alien’ is just another “tongue in cheek”, ‘artistic’ display. Sure it is. Whatever you say, Mitch. “Backed with an American flag, the 13-by-7 meter (43-by-23 feet) placard of a finger-pointing Trump was originally intended to adorn a U.S. city, said its creator, Chicago-based artist Mitch O’Connell. "America is afraid to put up this tongue-in-cheek billboard," O'Connell told Reuters by telephone. "Then Mexico came to mind because Trump started out his campaign by being cruel and mean to everyone in Mexico.”
Is that all of America that is “afraid to put up this tongue-in-cheek billboard”, or just the 30 American cities who refused to go along with the tasteless gig who found it too political?

“Being cruel and mean to everyone in Mexico?” The population of Mexico city was, at last count, home to some 8.851 million souls.
When Trump launched his campaign for the presidency with a pledge to build a massive wall along the southern border, O'Connell was working on a poster for a science-fiction and horror film festival featuring John Carpenter's 1988 cult classic 'They Live' about aliens living incognito among humans. That project would inspire his vision of Trump. (Reuters.com)
With no takers lining up to help him put his masterpiece on public display, about four months ago, O'Connell set up a GoFundMe page to get the image onto a billboard. The campaign raised about $3,000. With $3G at his disposal, the artist failed in some 30 attempts at pitching the arresting image in Washington, Chicago and other U.S. cities. He said he found no U.S. company "wanted to touch it because it's political."
“In the end, the Trump billboard was placed in Mexico and will remain on display for about a month, said Jorge Alderete, an Argentine artist living in Mexico City who helped mount the billboard above the busy highway. "With every month that passed since I did the drawing two years ago, he has become more like that crazy alien," O'Connell said. "It seems over time he became more and more like the movie, so it became more and more appropriate over time."

It took two years for O’Connell to find a home for a garish poster any 6-year-old could have drawn, but Donald Trump’s a “crazy alien”? According to his failed opponent Hillary Clinton and ’Resistance’ members Barack Obama, Maxine Waters and others, Trump’s also a bigot, a racist, misogynist and worse. And if you don’t hate the president for political reasons like those listed above, you can still hate him because he has blonde hair, orange skin and small hands. Anything that went south in the deplorable aimless lives of Trump haters is The Donald’s fault. There’s nothing much funny about drawing a human face with its flesh missing when that’s how we all end up someday. The Progressive Movement may have started out with flashes of tongue-in-cheek humour, but somewhere along the way depraved became de rigueur. As stomach churning as you may find it, pray for the sickos in the anti-Trump, Progressive/Resistance Movement because their vitriolic hatred is not just corroding any soul they have left but reaching out to corrode the souls of others. Meanwhile, ’Donald Trump the Alien’ is about as real as ‘the good guys’ among the new Resistance.
