We can't ignore the fact that there are American citizens who think it is a dandy idea. Let's look at Sanders' favorite nation, Denmark. He has been touting the glories of that country every chance he gets. The average monthly salary is virtually the same in both countries. Danes get government funded healthcare for which the minimum personal income tax runs over 29% compared to our minimum of -3%. The maximum income tax the Danes pay is 47.78%. The maximum here is 55.56%. Denmark has a 25 % value added tax compared to our 11.725%. We are tougher on the rich but they are much tougher on the poor. It gets more interesting. In Denmark movie tickets are 65% higher, eggs, 87% higher, Beer 200% higher, Real Estate 300% higher, clothing 65% more, utilities 49% more, a McDonald's meal 98% more.
