Something to Consider

We have just seen current President, Joe Biden, issue official pardons for his son, Hunter Biden who had been convicted or plead guilty to charges of 1.4 MILLION dollars of tax evasion and the lesser charge of lying on a Federal Firearms form in his purchase of a handgun. The issue of the pardons occurred on December 1, and there has been coverage of the fact in some of our national media.

Given the fact that Joe Biden and family no longer received security coverage from Joe’s eight years as Vice President, perhaps Hunter thought that his Father and their family might be at risk. However, it is a simple fact that Hunter well knew that his history excluded him from owning a firearm and he knew that he was lying on the required forms.

While Hunter’s lying on firearm purchase forms is, indeed, a crime, we have no evidence that he intended to use the firearm he was attempting to purchase for criminal activities. We do know that tax evasion is, indeed, a crime and tax evasion of that amount, a rather serious crime. If the son of a lifelong politician attempts to defraud the IRS of taxes in the amount that has been officially claimed that he did, it does reflect on the “politician”, himself in a very negative way.

One certainly must wonder if the father failed to raise his son to obey the law, could there be a “like father, like son” situation that might well exist?
