Canada Free Press (CFP) reader Renee in California brought it all back in this morning’s email:”There are no words. “It’s up to YOU, New York, NEW York? Really???”
The words of the epic song, ‘New York, New York’ have come flooding back, heading straight for the heart.
“If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere.” “It’s up to YOU, New York, NEW York”, downright heart wrenching when applied to what is taking place in the Big Apple today.
Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani never made it there. Wretches like New York Governor Kathy Hochul, New York Attorney General Latisha James and embittered, lifetime grifter Hillary Clinton did.
The Tragic Truth of our times is that President Donald Trump and ‘America’s Mayor’ Rudy Giuliani made it there, before being taken out, Trump by returning America to the people who love their country, Giuliani by ridding crime-ridden NYC of the Mafia and seeing the masses through the horrors of 9/11. Yet both have been unceremoniously taken out to the curb in specially designed trash cans.

When the song, ‘New York, New York’ arrived on the scene in 1977, like countless others, I belted out what I thought were the immortal words of the song whenever I heard it.
So many of us back then thought that the slogan ‘I Love New York’ would last forever.
Who ever thought that the song, ‘New York, New York’ would turn out to be NYC’s Swan Song?
Back when I was belting out the words of the song, my only connection to New York was the first time I saw it, having been sent by the Toronto Sun to cover Canadian Stephen Lewis’ address about Afghanistan to the United Nations.
I rated the speech as awesome, until two Afghani, New York-based professors pointed out, that it was the same speech for three years running.
A small story pointing that out was quickly filed to the Sun, and before I could return to Toronto, Lewis and his wife, a Toronto Star senior columnist had gone to my editors demanding to have me fired.
But that’s NOT the most important part of the story. Feeling that I owed my editors another story to fill in the space from my trip to NYC, I tried to quickly come up with a replacement article.
Feeling my panic, the professors arranged an interview for me with a man I never heard of. His name was Donald Trump, and during that interview, he spoke lengthily about a skating rink he was fighting to have built in New York City.
I interviewed Donald Trump without really knowing who he was. My editor, Gordie Walsh was rightfully taken aback that I didn’t know about him.
But the main point, understood only after a long time, was that Trump, even back then, was as passionate and determined as he is today.
Trump didn’t change, New York did!
The vociferous hatred of Donald Trump started in New York City and spread throughout the rest of the world.
Renee was right, “There are no words”.
No words, other than only social media-suppressed ones to tell that his enemies hate Donald Trump ONLY because he LOVES America.
“Start spreadin’ the news.
