MISSISSAUGA, ON, /CNW/ - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is delighted to announce a new sales record for the month of October. Total sales of its lineup of symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive vehicles were up 39.3 percent over last October. Continued strong sales across the entire Subaru lineup in October also led to the second-best month of sales results in the company's history.

The uniquely capable all-new 2010 Subaru Outback toppled all previous monthly results with a 13.4 percent increase over the previous record set almost ten years ago in November 1999. It was also a record-breaking month for Forester and Impreza as monthly sales were up 33.1 and 1.1 percent, respectively, for the month of October. "As the Subaru Outback was recently named Canada's Best New CUV/SUV under $35K by AJAC (Automobile Journalists Association of Canada), I'm very pleased to see that Canadian consumers are also recognizing its tremendous value," said Katsuhiro Yokoyama, president and CEO of SCI. "We have a very balanced product offering across our model lineup and it's been exciting to watch the sales momentum continue to build over the course of the year." Subaru Canada, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. of Japan. Headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, the company markets and distributes Subaru vehicles, parts and accessories through a network of 86 authorized dealers across Canada.
