MISSISSAUGA, ON, - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is delighted to announce record-breaking sales for the month of June. Total vehicle sales were up 7.2 percent over the same month in 2010, with 2,483 units retailed in June. This record-setting pace also helps Subaru Canada maintain its position as the fastest growing Japanese manufacturer in Canada for over three years running.

Solid sales across Subaru's lineup of symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive vehicles contributed to this month's growth with Impreza, WRX/STI, Outback and Legacy models each setting new monthly records. Impreza sales rose by 4.0 percent over last June, while WRX/STI sales skyrocketed by an incredible 81.8 percent. Likewise, Subaru's Outback and Legacy sedan sales were also up 45.8 and 19.1 percent, respectively. "Despite the recent challenges we've faced in terms of vehicle supply, due to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, we're proving ourselves to be a very resilient brand," said Shiro Ohta, president and CEO of Subaru Canada. "Being able to achieve six months of continuous growth during such adversity is a testament to the strength of our dealer network and everyone at SCI." Subaru Canada, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. of Japan. Headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, the company markets and distributes Subaru vehicles, parts and accessories through a network of over 85 authorized dealers across Canada.
