To: Americans everywhere;
In a discussion a few days ago a gentleman asked me, "what is Individual Freedom, or Liberty?" It really caused me pause for a moment, for I, like most Americans, have always taken it for granted. Since being born and raised in America, I have never personally experienced government oppression, as have so many billions of people all over this world throughout history. So I began a search to answer for myself the real meaning of Individual Freedom, and also Is America an exceptional country because of it? Barack Obama said publicly he does not believe it is. Hearing a president of the United States make that statement struck me like a bolt of lightning.
After many days into the mid-night hours of searching for the answer, I finally came to understand that INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM IS THE ABSENCE OF RESTRAINT ON OUR ABILITY TO THINK AND ACT FOR OURSELVES. And of all the things which make America great, INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM is our most precious and greatest possession, and is the reason we are an exceptional country.
Being free from government oppression, which restrains our ability to think and act for ourselves, has only one meaning, INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM, and it automatically carries with it INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY. I believe very strongly in the power of the INDIVIDUAL. Freedom is the capacity for self-determination. However, It is not cast in stone to forever be, but it is a condition, and conditions can change if so allowed.
INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM can grow and expand, but it can also shrink and disappear. INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM will only be preserved as long as there is devotion to freedom expressed in the hearts and actions of the people of America. President Bush said a few years ago, "History moves toward freedom because the desire for freedom is written in every human heart."
In his address at the Gettysburg National Cemetery, president Lincoln declared "It is for us the living to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus so nobly advanced." I declare to you, that unfinished work for which so many American soldiers willingly go to the battle of war and which so many have laid their full measure of devotion upon the alter of freedom so The United States of America might remain an exceptional country of INDIVIDUALLY FREE PEOPLE, will never be finished.
Barack Obama promised "fundamental change in America." Americans were not looking to change INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM for subjugation to an expanding Federal government with more and more regulation of almost every aspect of our lives. We have become a strong and exceptional nation through the self reliance of INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM.
Our great nation is a Representative Republic, not one of Socialism. Americans everywhere, we had better get involved and take a stand against government control of our lives. Now is not the time to be silent as Barack Obama attempts to dismantle this great country and bring it down to a lower level with the countries of Europe. Now is the time to devote ourselves and be resolved to defend our INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM. Obama does not believe we are an exceptional nation. I think you, like I, believe we are.
Until next time...may God bless and keep you.
Please forward this to all you wish.
