Taliban is not a terrorist organization?

He was traded for 5 Taliban prisoners. For a long time, the White House stood behind the "He served his country with honor and we always take care of our soldiers" story. His fellow military members painted a less than honorable picture of him. Now that Bergdahl is facing desertion charges, the choir boy image won't work so the White House has opted for a new position, the Taliban is not a terrorist organization. By taking this stance, Obama can justify the swap of one deserter for 5 "not terrorist" prisoners. If you read about the ideology of the Taliban, it will terrify you. And if you follow the actions of the Taliban and its affiliates you will know that they act in ways that define terrorism. The American people know better. We know the Taliban is our enemy. We know Bergdalh was a deserter. And we know the whole sordid episode doesn't pass the smell test. Bruce Butler Englewood, FL
