The “Aha” Moment?
Ms. Harris-Perry: "Our children belong to the collective not to their parents"
Maybe the remarks by Melissa Harris-Perry, Political Science Professor at Tulane will wake people up.
The erudite Ms. Harris-Perry says our children belong to the collective not to their parents. Well, the truth is- half of our children appear to belong to the government because we pay for them from their birth to their death. But for the rest of us, those are fighting words, I hope.
My children are children of God first and their father and me second. I chose to bear them, we cared for them to the best of our ability, we taught them, fed them, comforted them, disciplined them and, I might add, suffered the consequences of their actions. From day one until today, all decisions were based on what was best for the entire family.
I pray this remark is the "aha moment" for the rest of the people who do not see where we are headed as a country. It is scary to realize that the thought is even verbalized openly on television. It tells me they are confident in the success of their agenda and the complacency of the public.
