The atrocity of abortion

In regards to the Tim Bosma murder that has shocked the nation, many are wisely exhorting us all to pray that we may come to understand a world where in a single moment, evil can snatch such a precious life from us all.

Unfortunately we will never come to truly understand our world until we first become honest with ourselves and begin to reflect on the atrocity of abortion. There are millions of such singular moments of evil happening each day in abortion clinics around the globe turning the world into a planet of death. But very few give it a second thought. Our governments with not discuss it. Most media outlets vigorously support it. In our see-no-evil, hear-no-evil, speak-no-evil society it is as if the foetus that will never see the light of day had never existed. However, abortion is not some trivial little problem or a question that may be considered relative, in view of the pluralism of opinions we find in modern society. Science tells us a new life begins at the moment of conception, not at two weeks or 10 weeks or 24 weeks or nine months less one day or some other arbitrary timespan plucked out of the air. Society must come to understand that there are no “small murders”. The respect for every human life is an essential condition if a societal life worthy of the name is to be possible. When man’s conscience loses respect for life as something sacred, he inevitably ends by losing his own identity. Paul Kokoski
