The Comey Circus

As you all may have heard, last month, on Sunday, May 21st, Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus, billed as “The Greatest Show on Earth”, received a standing ovation on its final performance after 146 years in existence. For many of us baby boomers, the show became a part of our lives, as most of us in our childhood looked forward every year to the Circus coming to town. But, fret not friends, there are other circuses now replacing the old bastion. And, guess what? This new garden-variety comes free almost daily. Better yet, we don’t even have to leave our homes, as their shows can be viewed on national television almost every day. How about that? The most recent version of Ringling’s replacement was ex-FBI Director James Comey’s much hyped testimony at Capitol Hill before the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Soap opera

Just in case you were out of the planet, all that the nation, maybe even the world has heard over the past few months, has been about our new president Donald Trump’s presumed collusion with the Russians to influence the results of last years’ presidential election. I shall spare you all the details that preceded Trump’s witch-hunt crusade aimed at the hopeless cause of impeaching the newly elected president, if only because the Democratic Party’s evil machinery, cannot, if you can believe it, still accept their fateful loss of their sore-loser candidate and career criminal Hillary Clinton back in November 2016. Suffice it to say that, the entire soap opera leading to Comey’s testimony last week started back on January 6th, 2017, when government intelligence agencies expediently concluded that the Russian government had interfered in 2016 elections, and that Russian president Vladimir Putin had ordered to influence the 2016 political campaign as a means of undermining public faith in the U.S. democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency. In lieu of all the turmoil surrounding the Russian allegations, shortly thereafter investigations were started by the FBI, the Senate Intelligence Committee and the House Intelligence Committee, about the potential collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russian officials. The alleged ‘Russian Collusion’ story gained even more traction and popularity when the nation’s most corrupt newspaper, The New York Times, published on February 14th, 2017 their ill-famed article ‘Trump Campaign Aides Had Repeated Contacts with Russian Intelligence’. In the article, allegedly American law enforcement and intelligence agencies had intercepted communications, phone records and other proofs showing that: “members of Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the years before the election…”, furthermore, the interception of the communications happened just about the same time that the intelligence community “were discovering evidence that Russia was trying to disrupt the presidential election by hacking into the Democratic National Committee”. Notably, our own 21st century of President Nixon’s Watergate scandal of the 1970s. The agencies then sought to find out whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the elections.

To make matters worse, on November 18th, 2016, Michael T. Flynn accepted Donald Trump’s offer to become the twenty-fifth National Security Adviser. After his 24-day tenure in the post, the shortest in U.S. history, Flynn was forced to resign after information surfaced that he had misled Vice-President Mike Pence about the nature and content of his communications with Russian ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislak. Allegedly, intelligence agencies had wiretapped Flynn’s conversations with Kislak where the two men discussed sanctions that the Obama administration had imposed on Russia. Flynn’s resignation furthered the FBI’s probable-cause probes of collusions between the Trump administration and Russia. On May 16th, 2017, once again, in an all-out effort to undermine the presidency of Donald Trump, the murky New York Times dropped yet another bombshell in their article ‘Comey Memo Says Trump Asked Him to End Flynn Investigation’. The article aimed at raising the specter that President Trump may have obstructed justice in the Flynn investigation. After the fact, in Comey’s disgruntled testimony circus, we all learned that in fact, the queasy ex-FBI director, had conveniently been writing himself memoranda notes where he reflected on his conversations with Trump, including of a dinner in which president Trump reportedly said: “I hope you can see your way clear to letting to letting Flynn go. He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go”, referring to Flynn’s investigation, allegedly raising doubts in Comey’s mind as to Trump’s true intentions of influencing Comey into dropping Flynn’s investigation, or so claimed the ex-FBI Director in his testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee. To make a long story short, after 3 hours of testimony by this Comey clown, the American public went on to find several truths which finally revealed what this character was all about, albeit what the true story and facts in relation to the disreputable Russian Connection were. The first thing we learned was that, there was not, in fact, any ongoing investigations on Trump’s alleged ties with Russia as there was not any basis for such investigation whatsoever, which presupposes obviously there were no grounds for the investigation to begin with.

We also learned that there was no probable cause for obstruction of justice as Idaho’s Senator James E. Rich told Comey during the Senate hearings, “Nobody has ever been prosecuted for “hoping” something, right? Instead, we learned that, in fact, there could have been probable cause to charge Loretta Lynch, former Attorney General under then-president Barack Obama, with obstruction of justice herself based on Lynch’s meeting with former President Bill Clinton on an airport tarmac while there was an ongoing investigation on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server – an investigation where Comey acting as self-proclaimed Attorney General, unilaterally determined there was not enough evidence to charge aspiring candidate Clinton with any wrongdoing thus ending the infamous email investigation by the FBI. Furthermore, we learned that Lynch had asked Comey to refer to the Clinton investigation, as a “matter” and not as an “investigation”. I remind you friends, this is the head of the Department of Justice folks telling the head of the most powerful intelligence agency in the nation, to wit, the FBI, how to conceal and disguise sensitive information that could influence public opinion in the general elections. Hello?! Anyway, I loved how this Comey clown went on to perjure himself for nearly three hours. Of all the oracles uncovered in Comey’s testimony, however, the one that takes the prize must be the latter’s admission as a one-man ploy to undermine the Trump presidency. That came about when Comey admitted in testimony his need to “get out into the public square”, and said, "and so, I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo [written by Comey on Trump] with a reporter." Comey didn't identify that friend, other than to say the person was a law professor at Columbia University — promptly crashing the law school's website. Professor Daniel Richman later confirmed to reporters that he was the source. Comey then added that he had hoped the leak would eventually lead to the appointment of a special counsel to investigate Donald Trump and that, by the way, is exactly what ended up happening.

Beginning to get it, folks? Do you understand the gravity of what this admission represents? Listen friends, we are talking here about the director of the FBI, one of the most powerful intelligence agencies in the nation plotting against the president of the U.S., to oust him in his post as president via an impeachment proceeding, all of which begins with the appointment of a Special Counsel. To make matters worse, can you all believe how unscrupulous and unethical was Comey’s plot as he dared involve a third-party layman completely unrelated to the U.S. government, elementarily disqualifying this third-party from accessing any such sensitive intelligence information as were the memos of the then FBI Director? This, folks, gave me chills up my spine - unbelievable, to say the least. And we still wonder why president Trump sent Comey packing by dismissing him on May 17th. Were it me, knowing some of what Trump knew about this ego-maniacal opportunist, I would have fired the SOB on my first day in office. I still cannot understand why Trump would praise this carpetbagger a couple of times after being elected to office. All it tells me is that old Donald, as smart as he may be, can and will make mistakes as he is human after all. Matter of fact, I hope that Trump learned his lesson. My advice to him would be to clean the slate altogether of all the Obama leftovers – nothing good can come of any of that hybrid Muslim sympathizing communist misfit we had for president over the last eight years. It would behoove Trump to get rid of all of them and spare himself from another Comey rising from the rank and file of the old Obama regime. To close, you may ask: “Is the farce over yet? And the answer, unfortunately is: it is not. Not by far. On May 17th, 2017 deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed former FBI Director Robert Muller as Special Counsel to oversee the Russia investigation, which, in a way, concedes a victory to Comey in his admitted wishes for such happening.

So…what is the moral to my story here today? I say the Comey saga, together with the Clinton’s email scandal that preceded it; together with an untimely flurry of legal controversies in Washington, intelligence hearings, government leaks; continuous violations of our constitutional rule of law by high-ranking government officials, unprecedented abuses of power by politicians; eminent obstructions of justice– have all contributed to today’s decadent State-Of-The-Union. It seems sort of surreal that some of the nation’s most significant issues in need of immediate attention; issues such as tax and healthcare reform, job-stimulation, national security, education and a whole host of other critical issues are hastily thrown by the wayside, all the while as we allow for the democrat’s crusades of hate and destruction such as this Russia Connection and Comey’s revengeful campaign, to go about in their mission to destroy Donald Trump. Critical issues disposed of their inherent priority as we allow these spectacles to go depicting, if you will, the ultimate commitment of transforming our nation made by Marxist promoter Barack Obama as he was elected to be our President over the past eight years. Critical issues trampled as our political tugs-of-war have us coming closer and closer to becoming a third-world banana republic known for their Coup d'états and overthrows of their leaders with a total lack of reverence for democratically-elected presidents. I say we are living in a chaotic and unprecedented political mayhem summarily undermining the presidency with false allegations, for the most part made-up by a partisan fringe media in an all-out effort to continue their long-engrained Marxist legacy which has been eroding our values and our freedoms over many years now. In ending, I have come to the sad realization that the prevailing political turmoil that now besieges us as a nation, is all but the byproduct of an Alinsky model that has long been promoted by our own inbred radicals. It is indeed sad that we had to say good-bye to our old and beloved Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus. It is sadder yet that such a glamorous spectacle was replaced by the likes of our present-day political circuses. I wish we could all have the old Ringling come back as I wish we had the Comey Circuses be gone for good, although I must say, in all honesty, today’s circuses are truly giving Ringling a run for their money in the latter’s claim as “The Greatest Show on Earth”. May God save us and may God save America.
