The confusion within ones self

I doubt any "straight" person can imagine the confusion that comes with being a member of the LBGT community. The confusion within ones self as well as the confusion for the rest of society. And knowing that my thoughts may be very unpopular, I feel they must be said. I would hope that we (straight and LBGT) would treat everyone with the same level of respect and kindness. That we would consider the situation from both sides. Up until recently, all people used public bathrooms without incident. Nobody announced their sexual identity nor blatantly waltzed into bathrooms where their presence would cause an uproar. We coexisted in harmony. Now, because of the actions of the LBGT community, most of us will have second thoughts when entering a public bathroom. Laws are being written and challenged, communities are divided, parents are fearful. So my question is, what have you gained? Shirley Reynolds Englewood, FL
