The cries of the children Obama never hears

The mainstream media which never gives them voice will ignore the hundreds of thousands--80% of them school and university kids under age 20--out on the streets of Washington, DC today for what is expected to be the largest March for Life gathering ever.

March of Life attendees and supporters booked more hotels than were booked for Obama’s recent inauguration, for the march that marks the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the first trimester, but you won’t see that in tomorrow’s news headlines. And ironically it is the same kind of school youngsters that Vice President Joe Biden claims to have in mind in an email boast today that the president “did something big last week” when he “proposed a set of major reforms to help protect our children and our communities by curbing gun violence”, and that “he’s already announced 23 executive actions that will go a long way in helping keep our kids safe”. The children and young people out on Washington Streets for today’s March for Life are going much further to protect children than 23 executive orders, Mr. Vice President, they are standing up to protect the most vulnerable children of them all--those in--and just out--of the mother’s womb.

It is not the news media or the government to which these young people are looking for answers on respecting the dignity of life, but to their own Christian teaching and conscience. With or without the media and government, theirs is a growing cry that transcends political hypocrisy and is getting louder by day. “We recall the Church to acknowledge, furthermore, the sacrifice it is going to take to end abortion. We have been promised trouble in this world, and we know trouble comes when we address abortion,” Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, said at the National Memorial for the Preborn and their Mothers and Fathers at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. today.

“When we speak about it in Church, we’re told it’s too political. When we speak about it in politics, we’re told it’s too religious. In the world of media the topic is too disturbing. In the world of business it’s too distracting. In the world of education it’s too controversial. In the streets it’s too destructive. “So if abortion is wrong, where do we go to say so? “We go into the Churches, into politics, into the media, into the business world, into education, and into the streets!”

It will be impossible for Washington winds to blow away Fr. Pavone’s words incorporating the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. :

“When faced with trouble and opposition, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. reminded the civil rights activists that no dogs were going to turn them around, no police clubs or jail sentences were going to turn them around, and no injunctions were going to turn them around. “And I say to you today in the pro-life movement: no Planned Parenthood is going to turn us around, no biased media is going to turn us around, no HHS mandate is going to turn us around, and no Obama administration is going to turn us around. “It’s been forty years. The Promised Land is in front of us! And we are going to enter it together!”
