The disintegration of nuclear families
"A majority of blacks in the United States — more than 3 out of 5 — say they or a family member have personal experience with being treated unfairly by the police, and their race is the reason why." AP
That means that 3/5ths of blacks, 60 of every, 100 has had some sort of interaction with police. I find that astounding. And disturbing. Those numbers explain so much and they ignore so much.
It is no wonder that blacks mistrust the police. But it also no wonder that police have reason to be frustrated with a population that represents, in many cities, a large percentage of criminal behavior.
It seems like so much waste of resources and human potential. And the waste will continue until we can have a safe and frank discussion about the root problems: the disintegration of nuclear families, lack of education, lack of jobs, unfettered government handouts and the discontent sewn by some black leaders.
