If you are losing the war of words— change the languageLike most hard left-leaning activists, associations and their affiliates, National Public Radio (NPR), which published a Guide on how to properly use adjectives and phrases on the abortion debate, is—FETUS OBSESSED. “The guidance cautioned reporters against describing the "fetal heartbeat" bills as referring to the heartbeat of a fetus — they instead say the heartbeat can be detected weeks before the embryo develops into a fetus. (The Blaze, May 22, 2019)
“The guidance objected to the terms "late term abortion" and "partial birth abortion," and claimed those phrases had "ideological baggage" that implied the fetus was viable when the abortions were operated.” If the fetus is not “viable”, why is abortion needed?
“The guidance also said not to use the phrase "abortion clinics.” (The Blaze)
“We say instead, "medical or health clinics that perform abortions." The point is to not to use abortion before the word clinic. The clinics perform other procedures and not just abortions.
“Another section cautioned against phrases that would lead the reader to believe an aborted fetus was a baby.
"The term "unborn" implies that there is a baby inside a pregnant woman, not a fetus. Babies are not babies until they are born. They're fetuses. Incorrectly calling a fetus a "baby" or "the unborn" is part of the strategy used by antiabortion groups to shift language/legality/public opinion.”

Nowhere in the NPR Guide does it say “These procedures abort babies, not fetuses”. How’s that for a kind of strategy used by pro-abortion groups “to shift language/legality/public opinion”? Soon the FETUS-OBSESSED pro-abortion activists who shift language all over the map, will be banning the use of the phrase “We’re having a baby” from the public lexicon.
“Ramesh Ponnuro of the National Review excoriated the guidance as "unself-consciously propagandistic" in its support of the pro-abortion side of the debate. (The Blaze) "It turns out that the longstanding practice of NPR has been to use the terms that are favored by one side of the abortion debate," he added. "Guess which one!” "Every single word-usage option is resolved in favor of language preferred by those who support liberal, widespread access to legalized abortion, against those who would further restrict the practice," responded Quin Hillyer in the Washington Examiner. "Throughout the notice, the tone drips with contempt for pro-lifers.”

Meanwhile, Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may have hit on an unintended truth when she said Anti-Abortion laws are about about ‘White Guys’ Fear of Women. “Wednesday at the 2019 Center for American Progress Ideas Conference, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said the laws passed in several state legislatures banning abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected was about “fear” of women. (Breitbart, May 22, 2019)
“Pelosi said, “This is about family planning. It’s about birth control. They like to argue the case in some words that aren’t true but are alarming to people about abortions that must take place in the late term, the health of the mother whatever, but they describe it terribly, and it has a market. That’s why they do it. What woman should know is this is not about just that. It’s about family planning, and access to women’s health, it’s about in vitro fertilization to have babies.” “She continued, “This is about lack of respect for woman. This is about some fear that is in our community, our society about women having the ability to have the size and timing of their families working with their husbands, with their doctors, with their God whatever it is, but to just see it as a choice issue is one piece of it. It’s about lack of respect, and it’s reflected when they won’t give equal pay or family medical leave, which really benefits woman and the rest.” “Discussing abortion legislature in the House, Pelosi added, “When you see them lined up at the floor of the House guys, guys, guys, just white guys, guys signing for their discharge petition in a way that doesn’t represent the truth of what they are putting down there. I say we don’t agonize we organize.”
Pro-lifers won’t have to “agonize” about NPR’s guide on what phrases to use in abortion debate—the progressive left has already been using them for a long time now.
